Green Schools
Our school has a long association with the Green Schools Initiative, having entered our first project in 2007. The Green Schools Initiative strives to encourage schools and pupils, to adopt a green agenda. This is done by educating ourselves in relation to the environment and the effect that we have on it. The project is driven by themes which are embraced by the school over a 2 year period. The aim is to make us ever aware of how we interact with the environment and how we can improve our relationship with it.
As a result of our commitment to the environment and specifically to this project, to date we have received a total of 7 Green Flags. The Green Flags that we have received are for projects in the area of Waste & Litter Management, Water Conservation, Energy, Transport and the most recent flag that we received was for the project on Biodiversity. Mr Corr and the Green Committee embarked on that project in 2014 and to the delight of the whole school they were awarded the flag in March 2015. |
