On the 11th of March, Maria Walsh MEP visited Lanesborough Primary School. She was invited by Ms Murphy, Principal of Lanesborough Primary School, and by Rory Leonard who is coordinating the process for the Blue Star Programme of Europe. The school is pursuing the Blue Star Flag, this programme is to foster better understanding and knowledge of the European Union and how it affects the lives of primary school children. As part of this initiative, schools are encouraged to invite politicians who could outline the policies and practices of the European Union. Therefore, Maria Walsh MEP was asked to come to Lanesborough and to expand upon the important work that she and her colleagues do as members of the European parliament. We were also visited by Senator Micheál Carrigy and Joe Flaherty TD. Each visitor provided a unique perspective on the work of the European Union. Confirmation for Lanesborough Primary School takes place on Friday March 25th at 4pm in St Mary's Church. School will close at 12noon for all pupils. We hope all our pupils going forward for Confirmation will have a great day.
We would like to wish a very Happy St Patrick's Day to the whole school community. School will be closed from Thursday March 17th to Monday March 21st inclusive.
