Trip to Corlea Trackway in Kenagh
20-09-19

We recently visited Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre in Kenagh. Our tour guide was Noel and he gave us a very informative talk about the history of Corlea and the Iron Age Trackway. We watched a short video of the site excavations and the conservation of the wood before it was displayed in Corlea. After the video We visited the trackway display and Noel talked about the people who lived in the area and built the trackway. The Corlea Trackway dates back to 148 BC.
The children were then divided into teams and they all had good fun completing a scavenger hunt around the surrounding bog land. Finally we went for a short walk down the board walk. An enjoyable day was had by all!
