Scifest 2019
Well done to the pupils of 5th and 6th class who participated in Scifest 2019 in Lanesboro Community College. The whole class put a lot of work into researching, investigating and carrying out experiments before sending six lucky pupils forward to represent the school in the Scifest competition.
Those six pupils represented the school excellently by wowing the judges with their enthusiasm and knowledge of their projects. Experiments on display included - testing door handles for germs, how germs are spread, how soap works and finally how soap affects the surface tension and fats/ protein in milk.
Congratulations to the pupils on a great achievement of winning the overall prize in the primary school section. Bravo!

Science Alive
The pupils have participated in and travelled to many science events and competitions, both locally and further afield.
We have entered the BT Young Scientist competition a number of times and travelled to the event to support our local secondary school participants too! Each year for science week we are invited to Lanesboro Community College to engage in a great many science activities with the secondary school pupils and teachers. It is a hugely positive learning experience for the all involved and the children really enjoy the trip. |
